My wife, college-aged daughter and I stayed at the inn for two nights over Labor Day weekend. We had a fabulous time and loved our accommodations in the West Wing. This is a spacious and beautifully equipped 3-bedroom suite of rooms with a front porch, sunroom, and stylish combo kitchen and living room. The space was impeccably clean, the bedding was comfortable, and the bathrooms were great. This is a fabulous space with a very cool and thoughtful blend of modern and vintage decor. An antique walk-in ice box doubled as a spacious pantry and many of the kitchen materials were reclaimed pieces of beautiful Vermont wood and stone. The space was defined by the creative and imaginative use of salvaged goods. A beautiful breakfast is provided, filled with high quality Vermont milk, eggs, butter, bacon, pancake mix and of course maple syrup. Shortly after we arrived we sat with drinks on the front lawn and enjoyed the sunset, with amazing views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. Access to Mt. Philo park is steps away. We had all the privacy we wanted. David and Jane are very friendly and were there to answer any questions we had. We loved everything about the Inn and hope we have a chance to return.
The owners do a great job creating a home away from home. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. Each unit has something that makes it extra special and unique. This year, we particularly enjoyed the steam shower in the carriage house. The Mt. Philo trailhead can be accessed from the backyard. It's a lovely hike and the view of Lake Champlain is fantastic. The Inn is particularly good for families or couples traveling together as each unit has multiple bedrooms as well as common space. Charlotte is lovely for cycling and is close to Burlington. I highly recommend Mt. Philo Inn- stay there, you will not be disappointed.
“Excellent Accommodations!” We had a wonderful experience at this inn! Had a large group renting the entire inn and we enjoyed every minute of it. Gorgeous views. Clean and spacious rooms, with great kitchen space for your own cooking. The owner Dave was great to work with. We would certainly go back to this charming spot if we're ever in this part...
“College Graduation Visit” Eight of us spent a long weekend in the Left Wing of the Mount Philo Inn while attending the graduation of one of my daughters from UVM. There was plenty of room for all eight of us to move around and the unit was in great shape. Outstanding views of lake Champlain and the Adirondacks and Mt. Philo abuts the...
“What a great place!!!” Our family recently stayed 3 months at the amazing Mt. Philo Inn. The spacious, recently renovated and beautifully appointed 100 year old inn is run by the charming and friendly proprietor, Dave Garbose. Nestled between the foot of Mt. Philo and Lake Champlain, the views of the lake and sunsets over the Adirondacks are breath taking. We could not have...
“Extended stay in the off season” We stayed for two months when we were in the process of moving. We stayed in the right wing...there are two bedrooms on the top floor which has the kitchen and the bathroom with the shower. There is another bedroom on the first floor which has another full bathroom and washer and dryer. The fully equipped kitchen with the breakfast...
